Interactions between P. falciparum PFE1590w and human apolipoproteins ApoA, ApoE and ApoB identified by high-throughput
screens. (A) The fragments of PFE1590w involved in the interactions with human apolipoproteins
are depicted above a diagram of the full-length protein, with the amino-terminal signal
peptide (SP) and the transmembrane domain (TM) indicated. Low complexity regions are
shown below. The human apolipoproteins that interacted with each PFE1590w peptide
are listed to the right. The domain predicted by Phobius [30] to be exposed to the cytoplasm is shown. Numbers correspond to amino acid coordinates.
(B) The fragments of ApoA1 and ApoE involved in the interactions were aligned by the
MAVID/AMAP multiple alignment server [48]. The box indicates the region conserved among all ApoA1 and ApoE protein fragments
identified in the screens.
