Designing a sustainable strategy for malaria control? Clive Shiff, Phil Thuma, David Sullivan, Sungano Mharakurwa Malaria Journal 2011, 10:220 (3 August 2011) Current attempts to control malaria are not sustainable as crafted; they need to become general public health programmes. The word 'ephemeral' to describe current strategies of WHO, the GF and PMI is an elegant word to describe the short-sighted repetition of the same old general approach which caused the global eradication programme to collapse several decades ago.
