The study showed that it was more feasible to implement parasite-based diagnosis for malaria using RDT than with microscopy, but a high proportion of patients with negative results were still prescribed anti-malarials.

The authors show that RDT reduced the number of malaria treatments given, but question the sensitivity of the tests.
