Automated and unsupervised detection of malarial parasites in microscopic images Yashasvi Purwar, Sirish L Shah, Gwen Clarke, Areej Almugairi, Atis Muehlenbachs Malaria Journal 2011, 10:364 (13 December 2011) A pilot study of some interesting image analysis techniques that may have application in thin-film malaria parasite detection. Whether this has real applications for routine diagnosis of malaria within a haematology laboratory in industrialized countries remains to be proven.
