Migration of PBMC towards iRBCST -stimulated ST cells. Primary ST was stimulated with iRBCST, uRBC or left unstimulated for 12 hours. PBMCs added to the upper chamber of a dual
chamber were allowed to migrate for 12 hours. Calcein AM-stained cells in 8 random
fields for each stimulant were counted. The mean ± SD of migrated cells upon stimulation
was compared to the spontaneous migration towards unstimulated ST (MED). Interaction
with iRBCST led to a significant migration of cells towards iRBCST-stimulated ST compare to both controls (* = P < 0.0040). Representative data from
one of two experiments is shown.
