Post discharge haemoglobin recovery in children with severe malaria according to presence
or absence of parasitaemia at follow up. Children with malaria parasitaemia at follow-up had similar mean haemoglobins to
those without parasitaemia at admission and discharge. However, the mean haemoglobins
at one month follow-up were higher in those without parasitaemia (10.5 g/dL) than
those with parasitaemia (8.8 g/dL) (p = 0.001).
