Policy needs to be adjusted regularly to reflect the changing risk and it is proposed to use a threshold incidence to minimize use of chemoprophylaxis for low risk exposure during visits to S-E Asia.

This studies looks at how natural exposure to Plasmodium falciparum stimulates HGXPRT T-cell reactivity in humans.

Malaria – a major health problem within an oil palm plantation around Popondetta, Papua New Guinea Bianca Pluess, Ivo Mueller, Damien Levi, Graham King, Thomas A Smith, Christian Lengeler Malaria Journal 2009, 8:56 (8 April 2009) This paper is concerned with malaria in an oil palm estate in a country which is going through rapid ecological and developmental change. The finding of complex malaria patterns is highly relevant to the national communicable disease control programmes, and ways to apply appropriate interventions are required. As such, the paper will appeal to disease control managers, epidemiologists and environmental scientists.
