Role of monocytes and lymphocytes in cell aggregation induced by Plasmodium vivax paroxysm plasma. White blood cell suspensions were depleted of monocytes or lymphocytes prior to
incubation with paroxysm plasma samples (n = 6) in the cell aggregation with or without
reconstitution with these cell types. The bars indicate the median values of the data
series together with the interquartile range (25%–75%). PP: paroxysm plasma; NHP:
normal human plasma; WBC: white blood cells; T*: T cells depleted by Dynabeads (anti
CD2), M *: monocytes depleted by Dynabeads (anti CD14), M**: monocytes depleted by
