Roger Bate, Richard Tren, Kimberly Hess, Amir Attaran Malaria Journal 2009, 8:33 (25 February 2009) The data indicate that existing fixed-dose combinations are chemically and physically stable well beyond their stated shelf-life in uncontrolled, tropical conditions. This strongly suggests that a re-evaluation of the two-year shelf-life by drug regulatory authorities is warranted.

Manufacturers of both raw material and of finished products need information in advance to plan for plantations and production and this has consequences regarding the financial disbursements for the demand for ACT and the various options that are available.
